BCCI backs ‘tough’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has backed skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his advice that no player should hide an injury.

The BCCI has said that Dhoni’s dictat will ensure that the fitness level of the team improves. The Board also reiterated its stand that any player who is injured or fatigued should inform the physio or the board.

BCCI’s media and finance committee chairman Rajiv Shukla said, “Dhoni has every right to advise his boys. Dhoni’s plain speak will ensure that fitness level of team improves.”

And according to sources Dhoni clearly told his players that if someone is injured or needs a break from the game, the captain or the board should be informed. Dhoni also urged the seniors in the side to be more proactive and wanted the team to come together.

After India’s disastrous T20 World Championship campaign, Dhoni has warned his teammates not to hide injuries or niggles.
