ICC Chief Executives’ Committee meets in Johannesburg on 24th Feb

Abandoned Antigua Test match, Future Tours Programme, promotion of Test cricket and new Anti-Doping Code will top the agenda when the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) meets on Tuesday.

The second England-West Indies Test match at Antigua, which was abandoned just after 10 balls due to an unfit outfield, will be up for discussion as ICC wants to ensure that a repetition of the fiasco doesn’t happen again.

The two-day gathering will discuss options available for the international schedule when the current FTP concludes in May 2012 and attempt to convince India and England about an enhanced Test Championship.

With Test audience dwindling, the CEC will try to find ways to promote this format and will receive updates from the working group, nominated to revive the sagging interest of general public towards the longer version.

The CEC will also receive an update on the progress of placing World Anti-Doping Agency-compliant codes by July 1 and will also hear a briefing from Anti-Corruption and Security Unit Chief Investigator Ravi Sawani.

The CEC and the ICC Board will hold a joint session in June during the ICC’s annual conference week to further enhance the process.
