Sachin Tendulkar non-committal about RBS deal
Sachin Tendulkar was non-committal over speculations that his endorsement deal with the cash-strapped Royal Bank of Scotland has hit a speed-breaker, saying he was not directly in touch with any of his sponsors.
“I don’t keep in touch with any of my sponsors. They are dealt with by my management team. I concentrate on playing cricket. The feedback I have got from them is good,” said the champion batsman at a function on Thursday.
Tendulkar had signed up as brand ambassador with the foreign bank before the home series against England, which was also sponsored by RBS, last year.
He was responding to a query over reports appearing today that RBS, facing a huge multi-billion dollar loss due to the sub-prime crisis, was reviewing its agreement with all its brand ambassadors who had signed with the bank for five years.
